My name is Martin Grobe. As a portrait photographer based in Ostrava, I focus on creating authentic, professional portraits that capture personality, expression and energy. I see a portrait as an encounter — not merely a technical task, but an opportunity to reveal who a person truly is. My approach is built on a sensitivity to light, simple composition, and clear guidance so that the final images feel natural while conveying a professional image. I work in my studio at FS5 Art Hub Ostrava as well as on location according to the brief. For corporate portraits and LinkedIn headshots I prioritize a fast, efficient workflow: we first agree on the image goal (personal branding, website, CV), I advise on clothing and facial expression, and during the session I create a relaxed atmosphere to help even those unfamiliar with being photographed. My role is to direct and encourage while preserving authenticity so the photographs communicate trustworthiness and a professional presence. The process is straightforward and client-focused: a short consultation before the shoot, the session itself with clear direction and several variations of each shot, followed by selection and basic retouching so clients receive finished images ready for online use and print. I always respect each client’s personal style and needs — some require a formal business portrait, others want authentic lifestyle images; I handle both paths with attention to detail. Although portraiture is my primary focus, experience in fashion, product, interior, sports, industrial and artistic photography brings additional inspiration that I occasionally incorporate into my work. This cross-genre experience helps me adapt lighting, composition and mood to suit each client’s story.
